This week we announced a new QUAD CoaXPress 1.1 high-speed area scan camera. This addition to the family of CMOS global shutter cameras offers highest speed, high resolution with reliable image quality to measure ever smaller critical structures or defects with the increased accuracy and throughput required by in-line optical metrology systems.
The new 2 Gigapixel/s camera architecture was designed specifically for high data rate imaging with the lowest power fan-less Quad CoaXPress 1.1 implementation in a compact form factor.
CoaXPress CXP-6 Quad (4 x CXP-6) offers a peak transfer rate of 2 GByte/s with data transmission between the camera and frame grabber at up to 25 Gbits/s (4 x 6.25 Gbits/s). 13W of power to the camera is also enabled over the CoaXPress interface cables. This is all with a cable length of up to 68 meters.
High-resolution CMOS image sensors were selected for sensitivity and high shutter performance to enable excellent performance in light-starved and high-speed applications that are commonly applied in electronics inspection and semiconductor metrology.
Special attention was given in the camera design and through Active Sensor Control for high dynamic range, high image uniformity, and linearity to facilitate accurate registration of the smallest details. These cameras are designed specifically to deliver quality image data for critical measurements.
