In 2016 Adimec was requested to provide higher sensitivity, easier to use and more reliable cameras than the previous onboard cameras used in the WEC endurance race class. The TMX74 3G-SDI cameras were designed in to provide a drivers view forward on the racetrack. Previously used cameras gave a lot of issues as the shock and vibrations inside the vehicle are extreme. The issues frustrated the racing teams and broadcast team making use of the cameras.
The primary goal for our customer was to provide quality onboard viewing from the cockpit to the track at night. The TMX74 cameras are Adimec standard (COTS) cameras with only an adaptation in the firmware to provide interlaced video instead of our standard progressive video.
Since 2016, the TMX74 cameras have been providing images to hundreds of millions racing fan all over the world. We are proud to have contributed to this challenging race series by delivering video for over 12 endurance races, including 2 of the 24 hours of Le Mans without a single camera failure.

The camera originally provided are the same cameras used for all of the races counting for 108 racing hours per camera and even more testing and qualifying runs, with no service needed.
The TMX74 camera has recorded the fastest ever lap run on Le Mans race track in 2017 made by Toyota and its ex Formula 1 driver K. Kobayashi.
Adimec is confident our cameras will support many races more with high quality images during the day and night without failure in one of the most hostile environments where cameras can be used.
