No longer a trade-off:  Ultra high-resolution combined with high-speed cameras now available<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Yesterday, we<\/a> announced the first member of the new CMOS-based SAPPHIRE series<\/a>, S-25A30<\/a>.  The S-25A30<\/a> camera is based on the VITA 25k image sensor. Adimec<\/a> developed the new Sapphire-series<\/a> camera platform especially for OEMs of metrology and inspection equipment who require ultra high-resolution images at high speeds. Using proprietary camera design, the S\u201025A30<\/a> has finally made it possible to effectively use CMOS sensor technology in electronic manufacturing systems, like PCB inspection<\/a> and flat panel inspection, by producing CCD-like images.<\/p>\n

The S\u201025A30<\/a> is a 25 megapixel CMOS global shutter camera and delivers images of \"Adimec5120 x 5120 pixels at 32 frames per second (fps). Using the Region Of Interest (ROI) function the frame rate can be increased, for example 100 fps at 8 Megapixels. It is equipped with a Camera Link full and deca interface.<\/p>\n

The SAPPHIRE series<\/a> contains a defect pixel correction algorithm especially designed for large area scan image sensors. This algorithm maintains high image uniformity even with a high number of defect pixels that are more common in these kinds of sensors. The S-25A30<\/a> is designed be stable 24\/7 and delivers reliable and predicable high quality images required for inline inspection equipments.<\/p>\n

The SAPPHIRE series has low power consumption of 6.5W. Together with an effective thermal design we could keep this series very compact. Therefore the S-25A30<\/a> is easy to integrate without unwanted noise caused by heat.<\/p>\n
