Cameras used for machine vision applications are typically based on charge
coupled device (CCD) sensors, due to their high-image quality. Nevertheless, the
complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) imaging technology has not
disappeared so far from the machine vision field.
"We provide application-specific camera solutions to original equipment
manufacturers in three different markets: machine vision, medical imaging, and
outdoor imaging," says Joost van Kuijk, vice president, marketing and technology,
Adimec, an Eindhoven, Netherlands-headquartered company
